As a communicator, do your leaders invite you to the table for your input at the beginning of an initiative? Or do you simply receive marching orders after decisions are made without you? Trusted advisors have that seat at the table - and this session will explain how communicators can earn that role.

Lynne Viscio, a managing director at CRA, will discuss the specific behaviors critical to all communication professionals in establishing, gaining, and maintaining trusted advisor status with leaders and other internal clients.

Visco is an experienced consultant who regularly advises clients on organizational design, organizational effectiveness, internal communication strategy, and leadership development.

Lynne has advised leaders in organizations such as Kaiser Permanente, McDonald’s, Lincoln Financial, State Farm Insurance Company, and The World Bank. She’s helped clients evolve their organizations to ensure that the right people are in the right roles, equipped with the right processes, to get the job done.

Federal Communicators Network

The Federal Communicators Network (FCN) is an interagency initiative initially established by then Vice President Al Gore as part of the Reinventing Government initiative.

Through FCN, federal agency volunteers collaborate with sponsors such as the National Association of Government Communicators, the International Association of Business Communicators, and others to set up free training events for federal communicators. Many events are open to contractors and/or the public as well.

FCN events provide federal communicators an opportunity to learn best practices and network with one another, enabling them to better serve the taxpayer. We also strive to make presentations available after the event has concluded, so that the knowledge is circulated further.

Please note that volunteers are not official representatives of their respective agencies.
